We want your Euclids!

that is, we would like information about your annotated copies of Euclid’s Elements.

As our research is focussed on how mathematics was read on the British Isles up to the 17th century, we are particularly interested in pre-1700 copies of Euclid’s Elements with British provenance. So whether it was printed in Venice or Paris, or whether it is currently in Venice or Paris, if the copy was on the British Isles or was owned by a British person prior to 1700, we would love to find out about it.

Currently we are conducting our search in the major public and academic libraries in the United Kingdom and Ireland, but please do let us know if your institution has, or if you personally own, an annotated copy that fits our research parameters.
